January often carries a sense of reset. The calendar turns, our routines begin again, and we feel that familiar tug that we need to be refilled spiritually. That's spiritual hunger and that nudging is awareness. It’s the soul recognizing its need for God’s presence, His voice, and His truth.
In the Bible, spiritual hunger is often portrayed as a deep longing and desire. David wrote of his soul thirsting for God in a dry land. Jesus spoke of those who hunger and thirst after righteousness being filled.
Hunger draws us closer because it moves us to seek. It keeps us attentive, humble, and willing to sit at the feet of the Lord instead of relying on our past experiences or routines. Whenever spiritual hunger is present, growth will follow.
This month’s Bible Reading Plan is meant to help you feed that hunger instead of pushing it aside. One passage each day gives us the opportunity to read with purpose and let God speak through His Word.

As a community, we are beginning the year by seeking God first—allowing the Holy Word to reshape our thinking, renew our desire for Him, and set a solid foundation for the months ahead.
Take your time, stay consistent, and let spiritual hunger draw you deeper into the Word.
“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.” Psalm 63:1
“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6
“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God…” Psalm 42:1–2
Thank you for joining me in your Bible time. I pray this month opens new understanding, strengthens your faith, and gives you moments with God that stay with you beyond the page.
Happy January,
