God’s Word is alive, and sometimes one verse can feel like it’s speaking directly to you. But how do you know if it’s really God or just your own thoughts? Learning to recognize His voice through Scripture starts with listening, testing what you hear, and being patient enough to let Him confirm His truth in time.

Hey there Friend!

Have you ever read a verse that seemed to leap off the page and speak straight to your heart, but then you stopped and wondered if it was Lord speaking to you or your own voice and interpretation? Every believer who walks with God comes to a place where His Word starts dealing personally with them.

Here’s what I’ve learned over the years: when God speaks, His Word carries peace, power, and alignment with truth. It will not leave you confused, and it won’t contradict Scripture. It will draw you closer to Him, convict where conviction is needed and confirm what He’s already been stirring in your spirit.

Sometimes God repeats Himself because He wants to make sure you know it was Him. You’ll hear that same verse again in a sermon, or someone will randomly bring it up in conversation. That is not coincidence; it's what's known as confirmation. When the Spirit wants you to pay attention, He will make sure you can’t miss it.

Three Takeaways to Remember:

  1. God’s voice never contradicts His Word. It confirms it.

  2. Don’t rush to move on; wait for the Spirit to bring confirmation through prayer and the Word.

  3. When a verse moves your heart toward obedience, repentance, or hope, that God talking.

Today’s Verse:

Hebrews 4:12 — “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Let’s Talk About It:

What verse has been following you lately? How might God be using that Word to get your attention right now?

Blessings,

Jessica
