Bible Verses About Anxiety

Anxiety starts with fear and has a way of gripping our hearts and stealing the peace that only God can give us. It makes us worried about outcomes, magnifies our fears, and leaves us feeling panicked and isolated. When worry threatens to consume you, let these Scriptures guide you back to Jesus. He holds our future, calms our raging storms, and gives us rest in His perfect care.
1. Philippians 4:6-7
"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Bring every anxious thought to God in prayer, and His supernatural peace will guard your heart and mind.
2. 1 Peter 5:7
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
Releasing your worries into God's capable hands helps you build trust in Him. A kind of trust that knows He cares deeply about what concerns you.
3. Matthew 6:34
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
Focus on today's grace and let tomorrow's worries wait. God provides strength one day at a time.
4. Isaiah 41:10
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Stand firm in the promise that God is with you, strengthening and upholding you through every fearful moment.
5. Psalm 94:19
“In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.”
When racing thoughts overwhelm you, turn to God's comforting presence to find peace and delight for your soul.

Rehearse God's Faithfulness
Anxiety may revisit you. In the morning or in the middle of the night. But each time it does, don't rehearse your fears. Rehearse God's faithfulness to you. Speak them out loud or write them down and let them become familiar companions in your mind. The God who holds the universe together is the same God who holds you in this moment.
