Anger is one of those emotions we like to call “justified.” Somebody said something, crossed a boundary, or flat-out disrespected us and all of a sudden, our emotions flare up faster than we can catch them. But not every reaction that feels right in the moment lines up with the Holy Ghost.
Even us Spirit-filled women have to check our spirit. Anger can rise up quickly, but it’s what you do with it that determines whether it’s flesh or fruit. If you let anger drive your response, it'll be hard to hear the voice of God. But when you capture that feeling, and ask God to come into that moment, the Holy Ghost will rescue you before your words do damage.
We know that anger is real. It's not an imaginary feeling. And God doesn’t convict us so that we ignore anger; He teaches us to control it. To surrender that heat before it burns something valuable. If you’ve been wrestling with frustration, resentment, or impatience lately, tell God about it and let Him deal with it before it deals with you.
Ephesians 4:26–27
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.
The Word doesn’t deny that anger comes, but it commands that we master it. If you don’t release it before the day ends, the enemy will use it to build a foothold in your heart.
James 1:19–20
Let everyone be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.
Spiritual maturity learns to listen more than it reacts. Godly restraint is the mark of a heart that values righteousness over being right.
Proverbs 15:1
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
When the Spirit rules your tongue, peace becomes your defense. Sometimes being silent is better than correction when it's led by grace.
Ecclesiastes 7:9
Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.
Iti's hasty anger that reveals in us what patience could have healed. The wise person steps back long enough to let the Word settle her spirit.
Colossians 3:8
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
The Holy Ghost calls us to lay down what once controlled us. Our growth in God will require that we put off old responses and put on His character instead.
Psalm 37:8
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
If you let anger drive your choices, it will blind your discernment. The Bible encourages us to step back, trust God's justice, and keep our hands clean before Him.
Proverbs 16:32
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
True strength is shown in how you manage your spirit, not how you win an argument. The power of restraint honors God more than the satisfaction of retaliation.
Romans 12:19
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Let God handle what your flesh wants to fix. He settles what we cannot without sin, and His timing always exposes what's true better than our reactions could.
Galatians 5:22–23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.
Anger has no place in your heart if you're letting the Spirit reign. The fruit of the Spirit reshapes your nature until love becomes your first response instead of frustration.
1 Peter 3:9
Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
You are not called to match negativity; you are called to mirror Christ. Blessing those who wrong you proves that your emotions are submitted to the cross.

I know that we all have moments when anger rises. But a mature believer learns not to let it rule. When think things through long enough for the Spirit to speak, He’ll show you that your peace of mind is worth protecting more than your point.
This week, let the Lord purify what’s sitting in your heart. Some of that anger isn’t just about what happened, it’s about what’s been buried. Pray and ask God to bring healing to the root, not just correction to your reaction.
