Have you ever read Psalm 23 and felt like it was speaking clearly to your current season?
I think my perception of Psalm 23 has changed the more I walk through life. Years ago, I mostly read this chapter as comfort for hard seasons. But I've come to notice the constant care of God in everyday life too. I see more of His leading and restoration happening. The way He remains present not only in peaceful times, but also in the valleys and uncertain places. No matter what, this Psalm really settles the heart.
Before going about your day, spend some time reading these familiar words again carefully.
Psalm 23 - Daily Bible Reading
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
King James Version
Take these reminders with you...
God’s care for your life is real and personal. He will never forsake you.
Rest and restoration are part of God’s leading too.
Those low valleys are not proof that God has abandoned you. He's proving you.
The presence of God has the power to bring stability in your life, even in trials.
You don't have to move through your burdens on your own strength.
God’s goodness and mercy continue further than you can presently see.
Don't just trust God during emergencies. Read Psalm 23 and learn to follow Him consistently through everyday life.
Praying for you,
